A National Llama Farm Day similar to what the Alpaca Association does. This is a designated day where members open their farms to the public. It would not have to be an all day event, it would be over to the individual, but at least 10am-2pm would be desirable. A date of mid Oct, as people would be getting their animals ready for the show season, or Dec was suggested, your feedback on which is preferred would be appreciated, and also an indication of if you would be prepared to take part.
Providing value for membership is a perennial topic. The decision made at the AGM of a $15 fee for non-members to register their llamas is another step in this direction. I would like to remind you of the For Sale and For Stud pages on the website
Simon is in the process of amalgamating the registry into one online file. Soon people will be able to register their cria online which will be easier that the current postal system. Verification will still be required before the registry is updated.
A show committee of Lynn, Judy and Jacky will be working on a template for shows using Canterbury as a working base.
I will continue the monthly President’s reports, the committee will meet every 2 months and you are welcome to add a topic to the agenda. The magazine is targeted for quarterly printing, but Julie really needs your import. Even a couple of lines and/or a photograph on what is happening with you and your llamas would a very useful.
