It is time again for the annual llama and alpaca health surveys!
As in previous years, we are using the online survey tool “Survey Monkey” to assist in data collection. All individual reports are held in strict confidence, and all data is aggregated and anonymized before any release or publication to protect the privacy of participants.

(If you have both llamas and alpacas, please fill out each survey separately, so that the differences between the two species can be distinguished.)
This year I’m proud to announce that we are now collaborating with other researchers in Australia and NZ to collect data about alpaca health and management to improve our overall knowledge and management practices. I have added questions about castration to assist Dr Dominique Blanche of the UWA Institute of Agriculture. I have also been communicating with Dr Julie-Ann Hinkson at Massey Vet School, and have modified the questions about drenching practices to assist her research on the subject.
